South Area Leach Pad Phase VII
This new leach pad construction project included topsoil stripping, cut to fill, crushing of 286,000 tons of cushion layer and drain layer, which was placed on top of the HDPE liner, construction of a diversion channel, installation of 4-inch to 30-inch HDPE CPEP pipe, installation of 20-inch CS pipe and HDPE piping.
Including installation of culverts, Ames crews also produced and placed riprap, hauled and placed clay liner on the leach pad, and provided processed aggregate for protective and drainage layers.
