Ames Construction was the general contractor for this gold mining and milling complex. Working under three separate contracts, Ames crews were responsible for realignment and reconstruction of 11.5 miles of County Road 225 through mountainous terrain. Project development included site preparation, excavation that included doze blasting material to fills, construction of in-plant roads, supply and installation of underground utility piping and drainage piping; and supply and placement of structural concrete.

Ames crews produced all of the concrete aggregates, and set up and operated an onsite concrete batch plant. Additional aggregate processing was performed to support the leach pad contract. Ames scope of work included construction of all structural concrete foundations, walls and floor slabs, including the primary crusher, process plant, truck shop/warehouse, diesel fuel storage area, and several ancillary buildings. Ames crews also installed multi-plate arch culverts for an overland conveyor system, which was one of the longest in the gold industry.
