Major roadway expansion project along Roaring Fork River in an environmentally sensitive canyon area. Concrete work included construction of 6 new bridges, 41 various length retaining walls, storm drainage and box culverts. The project required the placement of 28,000 cubic yards of structural concrete. Retaining walls: the project included construction of 314,000 square feet of MSE walls, 37,000 square feet of pre-stressed double-tee panels, 64,000 square feet of soil nail wall with precast panels, and 20,000 square feet of tie-back walls with shotcrete facing. Ames completed this project 1 year ahead of schedule.
